Downside. fees expected to double. Well, someone must pay for the project. Who better than users?

That's a popular campground right outside of Grand Canyon South Rim.  It will always be full.

I recently boondocked on both north and south rims - 14 days each for free. You can dump and take on water at the campground in the grand canyon for free. There's lots of free boondocking available around the Flagstaff/Williams area too, and absolutely drop dead gorgeous scenery.

On the south rim I camped in my 36ft motorhome and toad on the Coconino Rim Road, about 2 miles from the rim overlook in the center of the park.

On the north rim, my boondocking campsite overlooked the grand canyon itself. The view was unbelievable. It was a religious experience.  I had few neighbors too, so enjoyed much more solitude and freedom than in a campground. Plus there was plenty of wildlife to view too, including herds of elk and even a solitary wolf (that's not supposed to be there.)

I can't believe that these abundant resources aren't more utilized.

We've used them!
