I am planning on running down to Livingston, TX for a few weeks to establish Texas residency and bone up on all things Escapee next May. Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive/basic local campground? I'll have a 35' Class A to park. :)

What is inexpensive to you? Escapees has a park and there is also the state park on Lake Livingston.

Stay at Rainbow's End.  Non-members are welcome and your rate will drop to the discounted member's rate as soon as you join up.

You're aware the headquarters Escapees park is there, right?

I'd recommend staying right at Escapees and get to know everyone.

<facepalm> Okay, senior moment there. Totally blanked on it. I was thinking that was like the 'permanent' park place. :)

Last time I tried to get in at Livingston Escapees park we couldn't. It was full. It was about this time of year also

Not a problem today, but a cold front just passed. That usually brings a flock of Snow Birds until they get frozen to their northern roosting place.
