How to Find the Right RV Using RVT’s Search Filters

4 min read

Finding the perfect RV can be a daunting task. But with the right visibility and search, you can easily find the RV of your dreams with advanced search filters on RVT. Advanced search filters help narrow down your listings to only show what you are looking for. All of these options might seem overwhelming at first, but if you take some time to go through each filter and add in all the specifics you need, you’ll soon be looking at listings that match exactly what you are searching for. With RVT’s advanced search filters, finding your perfect RV is now easier than ever!

RV Type

Start by selecting the type of RV you are looking for. Most people have some sort of an idea of the type of RV they want, whether that is a camper van, a class A motorhome, a toy hauler, or even a pop-up camper. If you aren’t sure exactly what you are looking for, try narrowing your search to show drivable RVs versus towable RVs.

Make, Brand and Model

Next, select the make, brand and model you are seeking. For some, this is less important, but for others, the make and brand may be a dealbreaker. If you are not worried about these specific options, just leave these filters blank.

Year

Next, select the year of RV you are seeking. For many, this is a range, which is why there is a minimum and maximum option. If you are looking for an RV that was made between 2015 and 2018, you would add these years to the “minimum” and “maximum” under the year option, respectively.

Price

Price is a big factor for many potential RV buyers, and weeding out RVs that fall out of your budget is essential to the proper RV search. Like the year selection, there is a minimum and maximum option. For most, the maximum price option is the bigger factor. Be sure to really nail down your budget before adding in this outlier.

Length

RV length is something that is important to many folks, as it will determine how comfortable or uncomfortable they are with towing or driving their future camper. When choosing length minimum and maximum, consider spatial needs and necessary living space, as well as who will be traveling with you. In addition, gauge the comfortability and experience of the person who will be the primary driver of the rig.

Weight

The weight of your future rig is important for many who choose towable RVs, especially for buyers who already have a truck. Each truck has a towing capacity, so the weight of the RV you end up choosing will make a difference as to whether or not your vehicle will be able to tow it. Be sure to add this search criteria if it is important or relevant to you.

State / Country

Most buyers would prefer to select an RV that is within a reasonable distance to their home, or at the very least, in the same country. This is where our state and country search filters come in. There is also a radius feature, allowing potential buyers to search within a certain radius of their home. For those who fall in love with a rig far away, a delivery service may be available that can bring your RV directly to your home.

New or Used

Next, you will need to choose whether or not you want a brand-new or a pre-owned RV. This is something that is very important to some people and less important to others, so leave it blank if the status does not matter as much to you.

Sleeping Capacity / Slides

Sleeping capacity and slide out options can be important for some, especially those with large families. After all, it is important to ensure that there is a dedicated sleeping space for each member of the family. Be sure to set these features, or leave them blank if this option is less important to you.

Keywords

Finally, be sure to set your keywords to look for listings that have features outside of the above parameters. For instance, if you are looking for an RV with an outdoor kitchen or a Murphy bed, you will need to enter these words into the keywords parameter to see listings with these features. This is a great specialized tool so be sure to make use of it if any of these specialized features apply to you.

In conclusion, RVT’s search filters are a great tool to use when searching for the perfect RV. With these filters you can narrow down your search based on make and model, year, price, length, weight, and more. With these tools, finding your perfect RV will be a breeze.
