We just arrived in New Hampshire, looking for recommendations for the surrounding area. We think we will be doing a loop up through Maine, around to Vermont and then back to New Hampshire.
Places?
Must sees?
Camp spots? ( We love boondocking which will be difficult?)
We have a 34 foot 5th wheel! thanks!
What do you like?
Clarks Trading Post, Lost River Gorge, the Flume, if its a wet year lol, Mt Washington(no duals alowed) they do have a van, in NH.
Acadia park in Maine we have been to Maine several times but usaly go to Bar Harbor. The isle of Shouls was also nice. Kitery Trading Post, LL Bean
I am from Vermont. Shelburn Museum, Vermont Country Store, Stowe.
Let me know what you are looking for.
Boondocking is hard in the East you might find some in the Champion Lands.

Cobscook Bay SP, if you can get one of the water front campsites, #3,4,5,7 or 8 you can watch the 15 foot tide come in and go out from your window or chair outside. Dry camping, but since you like to boondock that shouldn't be a problem.
Or stay at a RV Park in the area.

Hike the 2 mile or so trail along the ocean shoreline at Quoddy Lighthouse at Lubec, ME.
Boondocking is a problem, but dry camping at state parks is much nicer than staying at RV Parks.

If you've never been to the top of Mt Washington in NH, that is kinda cool. You can drive to the top, take a shuttle, or ride the cog railway. Google it to find the details.
The Kancamagus (sp?) Hwy, also in NH, is a nice drive.
You will quickly learn to slow down in NH, VT, and ME. With very few 4-lane roads going east/west, getting anywhere fast is pretty hard.

Thanks for the advice I remember my parents talking about the Kancamagus when I was younger ill have to take the drive!

Great info thank you! We are planning to spend a week around Burlington, Will that be long enough?
Shelburne Museum is nice , I was the blacksmith there one summer a lifetime ago, Shelburne farms, The Sprit of Eathan Alan cruise ship, Ben and Jerry's, Mount Mansfield, the Champlain Islands, Trapp Family Lodge(sound of music fame).
Be sure to grab some wonderful maple syrup while in Vermont!
