We will be traveling with 4 small dogs, cavalier king charles spaniels, all under 20#. Any experience with campgrounds that are ok with well mannered dogs that exceed 2? We will be headed to Arizona this November than heading up California to Washington. Thanks.
Many parks and campgrounds do not state any restrictions and do not ask, but read each listing carefully as a maximum of 2 pets is a pretty common rule for parks that cater to long-term visitors as are other pet restrictions. Most parks that are used primarily by short-term visitors do not mention or have very few pet restrictions. The key is to be sure that your pets do not bother the other people who are staying in the park.

More and more parks are checking that your pets have the rabies shot. Make sure you carry their papers.
Thanks for replies
If your pets are all "well mannered" then there shouldn't be many issues. However, you should imagine yourself in a couple different situations with all four of them so you are prepared.
On a stormy rainy 24 hour period are you going to want to walk them several times a day and pick up after them?
If there is a serious threat of a tornado and everyone has to go to a CG shelter will all four of your kids behave in very close proximity to other dogs/cats/people?
Just have to keep in mind that you will be "living" within 20 to 30 feet from other people in most CGs you visit. Most folks will probably think your dogs are adorable, but some may not.
some peps love dogs.
some peps hate dogs. ( cats, other).
some peps have allegeys to such.
i love the rotts. but some are "scared" of them.
little dogs love to bark a lot, and can be a problem that way. best to get you four footed famly well trained. and used to being around others ( peps, dogs, cats, other). this includeds two footed little peps. proper behaver can make or break a life..
