Hello, fellow campers, just thought i would drop a few lines about the used parts, pieces you can find when looking on different sites like CL and e--bay, google, etc.

Yesterday i was surfing on CL (craigslist) and a guy close by had a Genturi generator exhaust system for sale, we dry camp half the time so i decided to call and picked it up for 40 bucks, great deal as it was in excellent condition. my question to you would be, anybody out there look for parts pieces while on the road? what have you found what sites did you find them on? and what kind of deal have you gotten? I buy almost everything used, as long as it is in good condition and priced right, I have had my class A MOHO just over two years. some of things i bought from the sites mentioned were steals compared to new prices. here is a list of things I purchased.

Stowmaster tow bar with all the brackets, receptacles, parts, for the toad $100 CL good shape

a brand new spare wheel 245-70-19.5 with unused tire $75 CL

Brake Buddy for the toad $212 .00 E--bay

Bilstein shocks 4 new take offs $80 CL

Two air ride seat bases $157.00 E--Bay

16' Add A room $80.00

And the Genturi exhaust $40 CL

probably forgetting a couple things

let me know what you have found.

Mike

Two months ago I needed an alternator for my Chevy Duramax which was $200 at the local parts store. By chance, I did a search on CL with the part# and found a new OEM for $30. A guy had sold his truck and carried it as a spare.
