Does anyone have suggestions for roads to take or avoid as we go from Rt 87N to Essex Junction via Crown Point/Lake Champlain Bridge.

We're towing a 35 foot TT and are looking for ease of travel vs scenic views. I'd prefer to avoid long steep grades if possible as well.

Google maps suggests this route:

=====New York=======

Rt 87 North to exit 28

74 West

2 North

47 West

22/22E

185 over the Lake Champlain Bridge

===Vermont=====

17

22A

Monkton Rd

Monkton Ridge

Silver St(116)

2A

Thank You,

- Mike

Mike:

Suggest once you cross into Vermont, head over to Hwy 7 going North. Probably easier route into the Burlington area...get on I89 north to Exit 15 and then 3 miles in to the Fairgrounds.

Keep in mind that parking is only available from 8 am to 2 pm each arrival day so be sure that you are close enough to arrive in that time frame. We spent our last travel night at North Beach park in Burlington as we came up.

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll do that. Either 17->7 or 17->22A->7. It looks like 17->7 is better being slightly longer but you don't have to go through a a town like Vergennes.

Thanks for the reminder. We will be leaving from Crown Point Campground on the NY side of the Lake Champlain Bridge. It's about 50 miles away.
