we have spent time on our previous Class A RV, but we were just weekend travelers. At the end of September we will be full-time or as long as the marriage lasts We've spent 41 years so far, so this is a test. Anyway, our two cats will also FT and we are debating how to or where to put litter boxes. There are several ideas/options. In our previous coach we had an ottomon which double as a coffee table. That was when we were weekend folks. Now as FT, I am wondering if there are cat lovers out there that might have the "purr-fect soltuon."

We deleted our fireplace, installed heavy duty sliders and but the box on that. There are two doors that cover the opening. One of them does not have the center panel, and that is what he goes through to get to the box.

Welcome to the forum!  You REALLY have to explain your comment about the ottoman and the litter box! ?

Friends of ours cut a hole in a sliding door closet's floor which led to a basement storage area.  They made a ladder and the cats got used to going down there and it was easy to open the bay door and lift the litter box out to clean it.  No smells upstairs.  They also made some kind of fencing around it so the cats couldn't wander anywhere down there.  It worked great.  Of course you'd need to remember to leave the closet door cracked so they could get  down there.

That's pretty cool. We always used a dish pan instead of a litter box. Much less kicking out from the deeper pan and we never had trouble with a cat getting too close to the edge thus missing the pan. Takes up less floor space as well which is a good thing in an RV.

Kind of depends on the floorplan of your rig. In our coach, the litter box in in the walk-through bathroom, right between the shower and the door to the bedroom. We use the Breeze system, so there is no smell. Urine goes through to a pad, and solid simply dries. We scoop it out and toss it in the toilet as needed. The pellets are changed each month. The food and water are also in the bathroom, but between the toilet and the sink.

We've frequently read that you should have one more litter box than cats, which means we should have two. We don't have a place for another one, and she knows where this one is. No problems after five years.
