Tucson and the Wild West HOP
March 22, 2019
After a busy week at Escapade, you might consider an enjoyable and relaxing HOP. Let us do the driving, while you sit back, relax and enjoy!
Board a luxury coach with a local, fun and knowledgeable tour guide. Enjoy scenic views of the beautiful countryside of mountains and deserts, while learning about the rich western heritage of Tucson and the surrounding area.
HOPs are fun and exciting, especially when shared with other Escapees friends!
On this excursion:
Enjoy a scenic drive through the Tucson Mountain Park, a part of the beautiful Sonoran Desert, to visit the Old Tucson Film Studios. These studios are a re-creation of an old 1880s western town built by Columbia Studios. The movies of many well-known “Old American West” actors, such as John Wayne and many others, were shot there, as well as music CD covers, commercials and T.V. shows!
You’ll be entertained by watching gunfights on the streets, live shows in the Grand Palace, taking a guided walking tour, or a stroll through the Movie Museum and the Native Village, along with many other fun activities and attractions.
What a fun way to learn the fascinating history of the Old American West.
Bring comfortable walking shoes and enjoy the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, including a 98-acre zoo that was founded to help promote conservation. There are over 200 native mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects and birds, including several species of hummingbirds. It also has an aquarium, botanical garden, natural history museum and an art gallery.
The beautiful Mission San Xavier del Bac, also known as “The White Dove of the Desert,” was built in the 1700s. It was founded as a Catholic mission and is a National Historic Landmark. The mission is considered to be one of the finest examples of Spanish Colonial architecture.
Inclusions:
Private Motor Coach
Professional Motor Coach driver
Professional local tour guide, with commentary en route

There will be a considerable amount of walking, so please bring comfortable walking shoes, as well as binoculars, a hat, sunscreen, snacks and a bottle of water, plus your camera for taking advantage of the many photo ops.
