Called “The Big Easy”, New Orleans is one of the most fascinating cities in the United States; a melting pot of music, food and culture. New Orleans is rich in history and is known for the French Quarter, Jackson Square, and the National WWII Museum, to name a few.

In the French Quarter, you can enjoy decadent Beignets and Cajun coffee or, savor mixed drinks in the restaurants and bars that line Bourbon Street. You can even enjoy shopping in the many gift shops!

Enjoy the rocking chairs and cool breezes on the porches of the South’s most beautiful historical plantations, once renowned for their rich crops of sugar cane and cotton. Walk through the beautiful gardens located on the plantation. After the tour, enjoy the local cuisine during lunch.

Enjoy watching animals in their natural habitat? Take an amazing swamp boat excursion and learn all about the history of the Cajun Bayous, since the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain are nesting grounds for many different species of birds, alligators and various other animals that call the swamps home. Upon returning to the dock, enjoy a famous Louisiana Country Boil for lunch.

New Orleans has unique folklore, traditions and burial styles and traveling through the city, with a local docent, you will see historical above ground caskets, known as Crypts. Stopping in the French Quarter for an authentic Cajun and Creole lunch.

And what would a trip to New Orleans be without learning the fascinating history the Mardi Gras floats and what all goes into building them!

This HOP includes considerable walking that will be on uneven terrain.

Payment options

When registering for a land HOP, you can pay half upon registration and then make monthly payments. The balance is due 60 days before the event. Ask the HOP department about this payment option.

Note: Non-Escapees members are welcome to attend, too! We’d love to have you.

There is a $50.00 charge for nonmembers on all land HOPs. However, if you join Escapees, the $50.00 will be waived.

You will be able to relax at a nice RV park with full hookups.

Trip cancellation and interruption Insurance

We highly suggest that you protect your investment on this HOP by purchasing trip insurance.

If you or a family member has a pre-existing medical condition, you might consider purchasing cancellation insurance as well. This insurance can also help with covering other unexpected emergencies while on the trip.

HOP Cancellation Policy

If an attendee cancels a HOP,

·         1 Business Day from Booking:          Full Refund

·         More Than 90 Days to the event       75 % Refund

·         30 – 90 Days to the event:                 25% Refund

·         30 Days or Less to the event:            No Refunds
