Camp Carpe Diem: A Camp for RVers Looking for Community on the Road
4 min readAre you an RVer and wish you could find folks with similar tastes and interests? Are you looking for a community while on the road, but don’t want to party all night long? Camp Carpe Diem (CCD) is just what you’ve been looking for! A balance of community, adventure, and relaxation.
What is Camp Carpe Diem (CCD)?
Camp Carpe Diem is a place to connect with fellow RVers, travelers, nomads, entrepreneurs, and on-the-road workers. It’s a place to come together to explore your interests, find your tribe, and create a community of like-minded people where personal connections are more important than WIFI connections.
A place where sticky s’mores hands, scraped up mountain biking knees, burnt BBQ’d fingertips, happy feet, revitalized taste buds, and laughter-invigorated souls take over your world…if only for a long weekend.
Held every year at a different location, CCD not only builds community but it gives you a chance to explore new places with that community.
What happens at CCD?
Prepare yourself for a long weekend of fun this year in Hot Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by historic bathhouses, trails for biking and hiking, and the beauty of Hot Springs National Park right in your backyard. Our host town is Hot Springs, minutes from breweries, distilleries, trails, and stunning photo ops.
Speaking of breweries, Superior Bathhouse Brewery is our Opening Night Sponsor for CCD 2024. This means you’ll get to experience the beauty of Bathhouse Row in an actual bathhouse turned brewery along with appetizers and a special release beer brewed for CCD.
Other activities to be planned for CCD include, but are not limited to:
local brewery and distillery tours and excursions
mountain biking clinics
mountain biking rides
photography workshops
hiking
live music
rig tours
RVing and travel lessons
happy hours and drink shares
campfire time
community dinners complete with s’mores
lawn games and hammock time
giveaways
and more!
Speaking of hammock time, you’ll even be able to experience hammocks from Hammock Universe, our 2024 Presenting Sponsor, onsite in our Chill Zone where you can swing the day away if you so desire.
Can I show up before and stay after?
Connect with others and keep the fun going for more together-time both before and after Camp Carpe Diem’s official dates. Over the last few CCD events, attendees have shown up as soon as weeks prior and stayed weeks after. It’s all up to you.
Campers love to get together and many events such as potlucks, scenic drives, excursions into neighboring towns, and many more activities all happen spur of the moment.
Hot Springs is in the path of the 2024 total eclipse this April, so why not stick around and explore all that Arkansas has to offer, and then join us at CCD for even more fun and community in May.
And, if you’re a mountain biking fan, campers can attend CCD and then head a mere 200 miles north for the Bentonville Bike Fest that next weekend.
How do I register?
We limit the number of attendees to keep it easy to meet and get to know each other. Which means, it will sell out, and you don’t want to miss out.
Use code HarvestsHosts for $15 off!
In addition to your CCD shirt included in the price of registration, we also have a ton of cool Camp Carpe Diem merch available as an add-on purchase when you buy your CCD ticket. Be sure to check out the hoodies, beanies, hats, and other fun items we have available!
Where do I camp for CCD?
Campground reservations are not included with the price of event registration. Campground reservations – either at CCD’s basecamp or another campground – must be made separately.
All events originate from the official 2024 CCD basecamp location at Hot Springs Off-Road Park. You are welcome to stay wherever you’d like; but if you want ALL the community, book your stay at the Hot Springs Off-Road Park. For tickets to CCD and basecamp information, click here.
Who hosts CCD?
CCD is hosted by two RV couples who met on the road while having fun so we started a camp to help others do the same because adults need playtime, too!
Ken and April Pishna are founders of Living a Stout Life and The Craft Beer Travel and Adventure Podcast. Debra and Barry Benton are re-founders of The Virtual Campground and founders of Benton Downs Photography.
Together we craft community and fun with Camp Carpe Diem.
