Work, Life, and RV Love
2 min readIn Episode 8 of the Roads and Stays audio magazine, we sat down with Mark and Julie Bennett, from RV Love, to hear about their journey of living and traveling full-time in an RV.
They first became interested in RVing in 2011 but had doubts about making it a reality. In 2014, they sold their home, bought an RV, and embarked on a nine-year adventure, visiting all 50 states, with 48 of them in their RV.
During that time, they’ve written two bestselling books, “Living the RV Life: Your Ultimate Guide to Life on the Road” and “RV Hacks,” published by Simon and Schuster. They also started a blog and became active on social media, sharing their experiences and helping others navigate the RV lifestyle.
The decision to pursue full-time RVing was sparked by a chance encounter with an RVing couple in a pizza restaurant. Seeing their joy and fulfillment inspired Mark and Julie to explore the possibilities. They reevaluated their material possessions and realized they wanted more travel experiences rather than material possessions.
Julie transitioned to a remote job, while Mark sought new employment that offered remote work options. They recognized that the increasing acceptance of remote work, along with improved internet connectivity, makes it possible to RV on the road. Since they began RV love and started working for themselves, they began to encourage others to think creatively and consider remote work opportunities that align with their skills and interests.
The couple highlights the importance of opening one’s mind to new possibilities and stepping out of the conventional box. They believe that the RV lifestyle offers numerous options and opportunities for personal growth. By connecting with other RVers, they discovered different ways people make the lifestyle work for them, inspiring them to explore new avenues such as writing their books and starting RV love.
Mark and Julie emphasize that taking the leap and embracing the RV lifestyle opened doors they never could have imagined. They encourage others not to wait for the perfect time but to seize the opportunities available and create their own unique path. By doing so, individuals can break free from societal expectations and find fulfillment and freedom on the road.
